The Trygve Olson Family

Trygve Olson was born in Norway to Olaf and Ingaborg Olson.  The family moved to Almont in 1907.  He married Hazel James, daughter of Martin and Mary James in 1920.  They farmed south of Almont and operated a coal mine for many years. (Ed. note.  Their hard work helped keep many Almont folks warm in the cold winters.)   In 1938 they bought a bar and moved into Almont.  In 1945 they moved to the Seattle area where he worked at the shipyards a couple of years, then went into construction till he retired.  Mr. Olson passed away in 1971 and Mrs Olson in 1982. 

Seven children were born to the Olson's.  LeRoy married Vera Joersz of New Salem.  They had four daughters and now reside in Redmond, WA.  Everett (deceased 2003) was married to Mildred Peterson, they had 4 sons.  He later married Irene Olson of Almont and they have one daughter.  Irene lives in Tacoma, WA.  Arlene (Mrs. Elmer Kaelber lives in New Salem.  They had 4 children.  Noreen married (Bernie Olson deceased 1960) and they had 2 children.  Noreen (now Mrs Chester Cruelinger) lives in Yuma, AZ.  Betty married (Brady Waters, deceased 1998).  They had 3 daughters and live in Puyallup, WA.  Shirley (Mrs Charles Brown) lives in Yuma, AZ.  They have 2 children.
